Servicing hints for trekking poles.

After using ensure the inner pole sections are dry and free from dirt particles. Wipe away any dirt with a soft cloth. Reassemble the pole only when fully dry.

Do not lubricate the locking cams or the pole sections as the cams rely on friction for locking.

The flexi and steel tips are replaceable when either worn or damaged.

To Replace Tip Unit

Remove the complete bottom section from the pole. Hold this section in a vice – gripping it at the top end of the pole with the tip hanging downwards.

Place an open ended spanner or pliers on the top edge of the tip unit and strike the spanner/pliers with a hammer. The tip unit will be released and drop off the pole.

Remove the pole from the vice – push fit the new tip unit in place and holding the pole with both hands bang down onto a block of wood. This will friction fit the new unit into place.
